The UNESCO Chairs Network builds on collaboration to advance training, research, and program development in higher education. 

In Canada, there are 40 UNESCO chairs in 31 higher education institutions. They build connections among universities, civil society, local communities, researchers and policy-makers. Its education, culture, communication and information, as well as natural, social and human sciences projects:

  • Build capacity through knowledge exchange
  • Promote North-South and South-South cooperation
  • Achieve UNESCO objectives
  • Identify solutions to critical social issues
  • Establish new teaching programs
  • Accomplish effective and exemplary work

The Chairs Network has established itself as an incubator for excellence and innovation.
