The UNEVOC Network supports institutions working to improve technical and vocational education and training around the world. Its members contribute to the development of educational policies and practices useful for the labour market. The Network, which includes 290 centres in 167 countries, encourages lifelong learning and promotes access to quality training.

The Network in Canada

In Canada, the challenges in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) are particularly associated with skilled-labour shortages, especially in science and technology trades. Canadian centres are recognized leaders in greening TVET, and contribute to:

  • access to education and training for all
  • quality programs
  • lifelong learning opportunities

Canada has three UNEVOC centres: the Pan-Canadian UNEVOC Centre run by Colleges and Institutes Canada - CICan (Ontario), Bow Valley College (Alberta), and Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles (Quebec).
